West Coast Headquarters of the Rockabilly Legends

The 1950’s were an historic era; a time of dramatic worldwide cultural change.
-
change that would last forever
change that would affect everyone’s way of talking, walking and dancing
-
change that ushered in new styles of clothes to wear, movies to watch and music to listen to
and, in large part, a dramatic change in how we treat one another
This new genre of music created by The Rockabilly Legends was the driving force behind this dramatic global cultural change.
Out of the American South in the early 1950s came an exciting new kind of music that would shape the history of music forever. They called it “Rockabilly,” and it was raw, steeped in religion, racially ambiguous, fearlessly expressive and very exciting. It came from the rich ingredients of African Spirituals, Southern Gospel, Delta Blues, Hillbilly Country and Bluegrass music; music of the country, from uniquely talented country men.
The 1950’s were the foundational years for the “Birth of Rock and Roll” and indeed “They Called it Rockabilly Long Before They Called it Rock and Roll.”
The Rockabilly Legends who pioneered, created and launched this new brand of music are:

Elvis Presley
Carl Perkins
-
Johnny Cash
Roy Orbison
Gene Vincent
Buddy Knox
Johnny Horton
Bob Luman
Johnny & Dorsey Burnette—“The Johnny Burnette Trio”
Jerry Lee Lewis
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Beginning his professional entertainment career in West Texas and on The Louisiana Hayride, Jerry Naylor was fortunate to call these iconic pioneers of Rock and Roll, “personal friends.” Jerry performed beside these pioneer Rockabilly Legends on the stages of movie theaters, high school gymnasiums, city auditoriums and county fairgrounds. After the tragic death of Buddy Holly in 1959, Jerry Naylor became the lead singer for the “Post Buddy Holly Crickets.”
Now Jerry Naylor’s creative production critically details the story of The Rockabilly Legends and the Birth of Rock and Roll. The Rockabilly Legends reveal first-hand their personal stories of the creation of this new explosive genre of music which changed the history of music around the world.
Jerry Naylor, a good friend to Happy Days Malt Shop and Gold Beach, has named Sheriff Johns Classic Cars and Happy Days Malt Shop as
the West Coast Headquarters of the Rockabilly Legends. Here you'll not only find products detailing the rich history of the music from the 50's but also memorabilia, and historical information; not to mention the chance to meet Jerry Naylor in
